Get Annual Laboratory Tests Done on Your Pets to Ensure Their Good Health
As your pet ages, it is important to get tests run annually to ensure that they are healthy and free from any diseases. By getting tests done every year, our veterinarians can get a baseline for your pet’s health to help monitor any changes that may occur from year to year. This allows us to start a preventive care plan at the first sign of any health concern.
EXPERT LASER THERAPY
What is Laser Therapy?
Laser Therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light to alleviate pain or inflammation and promote wound healing and tissue regeneration.
How does it work?
Light energy enters the damaged cells and stimulates inter-cellular activity. This reduces pain in the area and speeds recovery of the damaged cells.
What can my pet expect during treatment?
Laser Therapy is a painless treatment that lasts an average of 3 minutes. Your pet may experience a comfortable sensation at the point of application.
What can be expected after the treatment?
Most patients see positive results in one to three treatments. Acute conditions can subside with just one treatment, while chronic conditions may need to be managed with regular monthly treatments. And there are no known negative side effects.
What are conditions we commonly treat?
We use this most often for post-surgical therapy to reduce pain and inflammation and to speed healing. Other conditions include:
- Abscesses
- Arthritis
- Disc disease / IVDD
- Feline cystitis and blocked tom cats
- Hot spots / pyotraumatic dermatitis
- Inflamed ears / otitis
- Post-surgical healing
- Strains and sprains
Benefits of Laser Therapy include:
- Relief of chronic pain, such as arthritis
- Relief of acute pain, such as trauma or injury
- Strong anti-inflammatory effect
- Stimulates healing of damaged tissue
- Speeds recovery of the structural integrity of injured region
- Improvement of local blood circulation
- Postoperative pain relief and faster wound healing

PRP THERAPY
What is platelet rich plasma (PRP)?
Canine Platelet Rich Plasma (C-PRP) is an innovative therapy which offers a natural way for the body to reduce joint pain caused by arthritis and promotes faster healing and recovery post-surgery. C-PRP can be used in locations other than joints, as well. C-PRP uses the patient’s own blood components for these benefits. The procedure involves obtaining a blood sample from the patient and separating out the red and white blood cells, leaving behind the plasma and platelets. The platelet concentration in the remaining fluid is much higher than what is circulating in the regular bloodstream. The plasma is at this point said to be “platelet rich” and is injected into the patient’s diseased joints. This can be done in the hospital as a one-day procedure.
What happens during the procedure?
The blood is drawn and filtered to trap the platelets. The patient is sedated and the C-PRP is administered into the affected joint(s). The process typically takes 40-45 minutes. The plasma must be injected in a sterile, surgical manner directly into the joint so care must be taken not to introduce infection. Most collections will allow for additional samples to be frozen for future administration.
What happens after treatment?
Your pet will be restricted to leash walks for one to two days after the injection but can resume normal activity after two days. Some dogs are uncomfortable after the therapy and require oral analgesics for one to two days. Most owners report seeing benefits within the first few days. Results vary but can last up to a year! Treatment can be repeated as needed.
ONLINE PHARMACY
Our Prescription Protocol (Effective May 1, 2019)
Click Here to visit our online pharmacy
We understand that there are many reasons our clients may want to purchase medications from online retailers or outside pharmacies. To assist you in making the most informed decision for your pet, we want to be very clear that we recommend that you purchase products only from a properly accredited and certified veterinary pharmacy. However, if you choose to procure medications from an outside source, we want to give you that option.
Clients who opt to obtain their pet’s medication from outside pharmacies will simply need to pick up a written prescription at OUR CLINIC. Triangle Animal Clinic will not process orders for medications or preventatives sent directly to us (via phone or fax) from online suppliers or from outside pharmacies. We absolutely support our client’s choice to choose where they obtain their pet’s medications and are happy to accommodate a request to do so.
Why did we institute this protocol? We did so for a few reasons listed below:
First, we are choosing as a clinic to spend our time focusing on taking care of our patients and clients instead of answering faxes and calling pharmacies. We are finding that some prescription refills are being prompted by the online pharmacy, not the pet owner, and this causes much confusion and is very time consuming to identify.
Second, we feel it is better medicine with written documentation of a prescription that is filled outside of our clinic. There are more concerns with the possibility of prescription errors when relaying information over the phone.
We understand that cost is a big reason that our clients purchase from outside pharmacies and online retailers. We do our very best to make our medications and preventatives affordable and we routinely compare prices online to make sure that our prices are competitive. Most importantly, by purchasing directly from our clinic, you are supporting our family owned business here in Conroe. Rather than send your dollars off to a large corporation, we would hope that you would choose to support our small business and shop locally.
We would like to encourage our clients to order medications and preventatives directly from us through direct purchase at our clinic or from our own online store through Vetsource. Because our online store is part of our clinic infrastructure you will not need a written prescription if you order this way. Our clinic and online store’s supply chain is 100% secure. From the time the medication is manufactured, all the way to when you are going to give it to your pet, it has been handled, stored and packaged in compliance with manufacturer guidelines. The product you receive is guaranteed to be the name-brand medication in the proper dosage and packaging. Medications purchased directly from us and our online store are guaranteed by the product’s manufacturer and most importantly by us, your pet’s veterinarian.
If you have any further questions about our protocol, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for trusting us with your pet’s medical care!
